Description

An Integrated Approach to Active Threat Preparedness Overview

Using a community cohort-based approach, Cook County’s Active Threat Program is meant to help all stakeholders within the community begin to address the issue of active threat preparedness from a whole community perspective, bringing different stakeholders together during a single training to foster these relationships and interdependency as they prepare for an active threat event.

An Integrated Approach to Active Threat Preparedness has been designed as a two-and-a-half-day course, with the first two days of the course including instruction and activities and the remaining half a day focusing on training that utilizes the information discussed throughout the course.

The three objectives of this course are to:

  1. Create a comprehensive understanding of lessons learned from previous active threats.
  2. Provide participants the proper knowledge, guidance, and tools to help prevent, mitigate, respond to, and recover from an active threat event.
  3. Foster the ability for organizations and communities to build a comprehensive plan on active threat preparedness.

Please arrive by 8:30 am. Lunch will be provided for the 1st and 2nd day of the training.
